Frame Running offers children with physical disabilities the opportunity to move with greater ease leading to increased active participation in physical activities at school, during recess, PE, after school adapted sports, and recreational activities with their family. Children and youth with physical disabilities who use assistive devices for mobility expend more energy during gait than typical developing peers. This leads to greater fatigue with less movement, and less overall physical activity. It is critical to identify assistive mobility devices that lessen the burden of energy demands with mobility, provide enjoyment and increase the capacity for greater active participation in physical activity with peers.
