Take your school’s social and emotional learning to the next level with the Believe In You. The Empowerment Program is evidence-based and built for flexible implementation. This session is designed to inspire you and prepare you to fully implement BIY activities and resources with students or adults. Participants will get an in-depth understanding of program design including: student empowerment rights, building school connection, BIY emotions education, and Leadership Cycle. This experience is interactive and fun.
The Mountain West Prevention Research Center was funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in October 2024. The overarching goals of the center include creating connections and supporting the use of evidence-based interventions in rural community and small towns, building referral and program capacity for delivering family healthy weight programs, and collaborating with the other 19 Prevention Research Centers across the U.S. to promote health and prevent disease. This presentation will provide an overview of the Center's structure, mission, and activities to promote physical activity and healthful eating in rural areas and beyond.
