Monday March 10, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm PDT
125
This presentation will discuss the pivotal role of health teachers and classes in the development of students’ relationships with food and their bodies. One thing we often hear as eating disorder professionals is that it’s hard to know how to talk about nutrition due to the fear of causing harm. Our goal for this presentation is to provide information to teachers and leaders so they feel confident in approaching these topics with students. This will include why and how eating disorders can develop in adolescence, what content and verbiage is helpful vs potentially harmful when talking about nutrition and body-image, and how teachers can be part of the first-line defense for eating disorder prevention in Utah.

Wholesome Gratitude: The Healing Power That Transformed My Health
Monday March 10, 2025 2:30pm - 3:20pm PDT
112
In 2003, at nearly 300 pounds, I was extremely overwhelmed both at home and at work facing severe metabolic health issues. I had tried many ways to fix these issues - some worked but only temporarily. It wasn't until I discovered the REAL issue that I could finally take more permanent life changing steps.....ENTITLEMENT was the enemy. My life was fueled by fear UNTIL I learned to how to strategically practice GRATITUDE daily. I was finally able to get my life in order: I was able to manage my stress, time, and energy better. I was able to improve crucial personal and professional relationships. My ability and capacity to create and innovate grew exponentially. I experienced greater health mentally, emotionally, and physically as I easily lost 80 pounds of anger, sadness, and other fear-based thoughts and feelings.
